Hello

I'm Mindy Warguez (she/her)! I wholeheartedly believe we all need a healthy dose of support, compassion, and humor as we navigate the world, and this has become one of my life's purposes. I am also a mom of four, partner, coffee lover, and the world's worst cook.

My superpower is providing affirming, safe, judgment-free spaces for healing and good questions to spark self-reflection.

You might want to know what to expect and what not to expect in a session with me.

You can expect a counseling session that resembles a comfortable, relaxed conversation where you are genuinely heard and supported. I aim for you to feel like you are sharing a sweet tea or coffee with someone who makes you feel at ease and valued. I know sometimes counselors get a bad rep from TV characters, past stigmas, and whatnot, but don't worry—there's none of that cold, unfeeling, stuffy stuff here.

The actual process of counseling will be customized to meet your unique needs and goals but often resembles a little something like this:

  • Space to verbalize, clarify, and process your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors (this also helps me to understand what it's like to be you).

  • Explore your choices and what is/is not in your control, including any new perspectives that may have not been considered.

  • Decide together how best to address that which you have control over.

  • Begin learning and gathering the necessary tools to move toward your goal.

  • As we work through the process, we consistently gauge progress and any areas of the treatment plan that require shifting or editing.

I hope to see you soon.

My Story

I’m thrilled you're here. My journey into counseling and coaching began as a mid-life career change, and earning my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA has been one of the most rewarding and hard-fought decisions of my life. I absolutely love what I do, and I’m passionate about helping others embrace their perfectly imperfect selves and heal from things they don't often talk about. My life path before counseling involved successful entrepreneurial ventures in client relations and visual design for executive coaching companies for the last 7 years, serving diplomatic tours in Manila, Philippines, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with my family for 6 years, and serving as a marketing director and property manager for commercial real estate companies before that.

Having a multicultural family and living abroad has awakened a deep appreciation for inclusivity and diverse cultures and perspectives. Travel is one of my greatest joys––it opens my mind and fuels my soul. When I’m not counseling, coaching, or traveling you can find me enjoying the simple pleasures of life—sitting on the back porch listening to nature, trying to keep up with the kids, laughing with friends over coffee, or snuggling on the sofa for a movie with my husband and our fur baby.

My mission is simple: to spread light, love, and a sprinkle of humor along the healing path to leave people better than I met them. Life is both tough and beautiful, joyful and painful, and almost everything in between. Together, we can validate and navigate life’s challenges, heal our most vulnerable and painful parts, and celebrate our unique journeys and triumphs through connection and compassion.

I believe in our innate ability to change, heal, and be resilient in the face of darkness; that our coping mechanisms are our own way of getting through tough times, and even when they are not entirely serving us well, they do make sense in their own way; and that these can be addressed and changed with compassion, validation, and a vision for how your future could serve you better.

I’m excited to connect with you and support you on your journey to self-discovery, wellbeing and growth.

Hi! I'm Sebby...

I'm a certified therapy dog and professional snuggle bunny. Although I look like a puppy, I'm almost seven years old. I'm very friendly, gentle, and chill (some call me lazy). I live for belly scratches and cuddles. I'm also hypoallergenic and don't shed. My underbite makes me look like I'm always smiling, and I would love to show you some of my tricks—like waving hello! But don't worry, if you'd rather not get to know me, I'm not offended. Dogs aren't for everyone.
